Go to your tool bar, under File, Edit, etc., you will see a red x, then a page with two green arrows in a circle, that's the refresh button. Push that and it refreshes your page without having to log in and out. Just learned that myself.

No I know how to refresh a page actually did you know you can hit F5 and it does the same thing ?

I actually teach computer classes so I know lots and lots of shortcuts

what I wanted to know was how I can do it so it doesnt show up numerous posts that I've already seen

something like I've seen on another board where you can actaully show only the posts for the last 15 minutes... or even mark all posts read

thanks

If you go into each forum, at the top of the page on the right hand side, you will see, go to pages 1, 2, etc. Right below that it says Mark all topics read. You just need to click on that.

actually you can, if you go to the forum index. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and there between one of the last items it says:

mark all forums read.

Click that and you are done.

When I get on the forum, the new messages or those that have new posts show up in a dark blue, whereas the older ones or ones I've read show up in a lighter blue.
Is that what you're asking?

When I do that, mine are still the same. It must be something with your system. Not that I would know. I just know all computers run differently.

only thing that could be different is if you have chosen to keep yourself logged in

I doubt very much that it is the computer as it does this on 2 different computers, 1 at home and 1 at work

to bad it didn't work. I am logged in all the time and the messages I havn't read are orange. The messages I read are white. When I push the button : mark all forums read they all become white.
I don't know what is happening with your pc.
