Hi, Do any of you gals have the Amazing Box? I was wondering what it is like. Is it more like the Ultimate Box or the PeDesign? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Vic

I have the AB. From what I understand, with the UB you can put many designs on your card. (not sure how many.) The AB you can only put 6 at a time. I've never had any problem with this. 6 at a sime is enough for me. I don't know anything about the pedesign.

Hope this helps a little

I have had sooooo many problems with my Amazing Box ... I think this is my third box and the company upgraded me to the Amazing Box II because I complained so much. If you do a search on this forum, you'll find many different opinions about the box - some people love it but many people have had problems like I have.

The limitation of 6 designs per card may not seem like a big deal, but when it's Christmas time and you are trying to do several things, or when your computer and your machine are on different floors, having to reload that card is a hassle.

If I had it to do over, I would have bought the Ultimate box.

Just my opinion ...

Been using the AB for 3 years. Wouldn't buy again only because of the 6 design limit.

It's nothing like the Ultimate Box nor the PED Basic! Too many problems with that box!

Hi, can anyone tell me what is the differences between the PeDesign Basic and the PeDesign 5.0? Have a friend that is still looking to buy a reader/writer box. Thanks, Vicky

The major diferences are the digitizing capabilities...the PED Basic cannot digitize at all. If all you want to do is transfer designs onto blank card and maybe do some editing (color changes), then the PED Basic will work just fine. However if you want to take your creativity a bit further and create your own designs (digitize), do monograms, merge designs together, photo embroidery, text functions, etc., then go with the PE Design series. PE Design 7 is the newest version available, but PE 5 or 6 is good too.

Hi, Thanks for the info. I was wondering, can you not change the size of designs with pedesign basic or do fit to path? Thanks, Vicky

Nope, you need the fully functioning programs of PE Design for that. I use my TTF in my Palette-6 software (same as PE Design) and love how easy it is to create text in all sorts of paths.

Hi, Do you know if ttf letters can be made thicker using the Pedesign 5.0 version? If so, do you mind explaining how I would go about doing it? Thanks, Vicky

Yes, I "think" you can create TTF thicker by just resizing the design (use text size box), or maybe you could just add more stitch points to the text by using the point editing tools. Give it a try...or see the help section in your program...hope this helps.

I have the Amazing Box and have had no problems for over four years. I only need it because I kept my little PE150 and it doesn't take a floppy. Did have some issues when I upgraded my computer to XP but they were easily resolved by re-installing the program. Don't upgrade - that is where the problems come in. It transfers designs and I don't even have to unzip. If I want to do a lot of different designs I simply put them on a floppy and use my Ultima :) Also you can probably get an amazing box dirt cheap what with the new boxes out there.
