Delta Patchwork, in conjunction with American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine's 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge, has committed to collect challenge pillowcases for a mass donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This wonderful hospital is located right here in our Memphis, Tennessee backyard. We are asking you to make a pillowcase for a St. Jude child (free of buttons, fur or 3 dimensional embellishment for child safety reasons) and mail it to us here at:

Delta Patchwork, LLC
460 Distribution Parkway
Collierville, TN 38017

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF PILLOWCASES IS APRIL 1, 2010

To get you started, go to allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases to download 4 free pillowcase patterns.

THE KIDS OF ST. JUDE ARE GOING TO LOVE THESE!

What a wonderful thing to do - I'm going to contact my local shop that is participating and sign up.

I would like to do this but don't want to go through the hassle of supplying information to Better Homes and Garden to get the downloaded patterns. I've made Benjamin Smiles pillowcases that look like the ones on the site that you mentioned but are travel sized. Are these just standard size pillowcases? There are no local quilt shops that are participating. Can I just send the pillowcases to St. Jude's myself?

These are standard size pillowcases and you are welcome to use your own pattern. Because these are for children please do not use any fur, buttons or embellishments other than fabric. Everything the children come in contact with has to be sterilized.

This is not a St Jude project, however St Jude is the charity of our choosing. We have to go to St Jude through a representative, if you send it directly I'm afraid it'll get lost or misdirected.. You can mail to us and we'll deliver them all at once. We've already received quite a few... we're very excited to put a smile on these little faces.
