I think I have mozzed my machine -sitting watching it work, thinking what a beautiful job it was doing, and it was still quite a few stitches to the next service, all of a sudden it spat the dummy. It started misbehaving and came up with the message safety device is activated. I got it going again after cleaning out race, checking for cottons etc. changinjg needle, and it behaved for a short time. Then I got the message a malfunction occurred, turn off machine and on again.
Have tried this many times, but will not go into the initialisation and keeps coming up with the malfunction error. There is a what looks like a code on the screen TG PM. Have rung my dealer but they cannot even look at it this side of a fortnight. Has anyone any idea what this code means? Must I sit here for the next fortnight biting my fingernails wondering what disaster has befallen my precious machine? Any advice to ease my pain would be much appreciated.

2 Weeks that is a long wait to get it into the shop.
Bumping this up maybe someone has input on you problem.

I'm also giving you a boost to the top. I can't believe that your dealer won't get you in sooner - is there another Brother dealer anywhere?!! I would be looking around that's for sure! I hope someone pops in with an answer for you!

Have you tried Brother.com? I think they have a technical support forum. You can use their "Contact Us" feature and see if that will give you anything to look at while you wait.

Thanks for your answers. The dealer tells me they have squeezed me in, and have bookings up till the end of October. However as I trust this dealer and know he is a good mechanic feel loathe to try elsewhere. Have tried the Brother site and have been unable to gain any knowledge in this regard.
