For my whole life I have cut a cantaloupe in half and scooped the seeds out then cut it into wedges. Yesterday I cut in in quarters and the seeds scooped out without a mess. Took me almost sixty yrs to figure this out. We will be eating lots of melon this summer now that I know how not to make a mess.

After I scooped the seeds out I cut the quarters in half, ran my knife along edge of the green rind and went down half way, turned it around, did it from the other side then cut into pieces. Hardly made a mess.
I know LOL-some of you are shaking your heads laughing at me and my brainstorm!

After taking the seeds out, I slice the melon into 1/8ths instead of quarter slices. Lay a slice skin side down and chop the melon into bite size pieces (not clear thru the rind). The slice will lay flat and you can slide the knife under the melon pieces and remove the rind and you have two jobs done at once. JLM
