:D This is wonderful. The price of good vanilla is always rising, but I won't use anything but the real thing. I will definitely try this.

Just wondering if any of you have tried your vanilla yet? I'm almost done with my first bottle and have tucked the second one in a dark place to start turning.

I did mine with rum and I forget I had put back in a cupboard...I put 6 beans in it back in Oct and here it is July and it is not very dark and I tasted it and since I don't drink, I was not liking it..I tasted no vanilla. What did I do wrong? I purchased the beans at Costco back in Oct.
I think I will give it another try and use vodka this time. Any suggestions?

Lovellenaz, did you split the beans? You have to split them for the inside where the flavor is to get into the liquor.

I didn't read this bit either and my 'Vanilla Vodka' has been brewing for a year. Just checked it now and it smells really good - definitely vanilla - YUM!!
