Hi everyone I need some help. I told my friend that I used an applique design with adding the fabric to it so it basically was not an applique design. I am searching for the information on the internet and can't seem to find it. I know I saw it some where. Anyone have a clue?

Thanks
Icee

I am confused, if you used an applique design adding fabric, then how is not an applique design?

I miss spoke, this is what I should have said. I liked the design but didn't want it appliqued. I just stitched it out without the fabric. She said she didn't think you could do it. My question is has anyone else ever did this.

I think you can do anything really as long as you're happy with it. I believe other people have done this. You wouldn't need the placement or tack down stitches and you're finished product might look better if you deleted those stitches. It wouldn't (I don't think) be called applique, it would be more like outline embroidery.? That's just my two cents!

I have done this as well. I agree that deleting the tack down and placement stitches is very important, on some designs the fabric is the only thing covering those up!
