Did you know that April is Autism Awareness Month? I have been busy digitizing a new set to help raise awareness. Every 150th baby born is affected by it - 1:150 - that's a lot of us that have been touched by some form of autism. Our beloved grandson has Asperger's, a high functioning form of autism and our lives have been forever changed. I am making available a small heart to help you stitch something for the cause. This heart has been digitized with low
density so that it will be soft and pliable against a child's (or adult's) skin. Many of the autistic children also have sensory issues and are extra sensitive to "scratchy" or "hard" items against their skin. I hope you will make use of this design.

ACtually, in males it's about 1 out of 95. We have a son with autism and another with Aspergers. It's so hard on all of us somedays. It's time to find the answer. Thank you.

Thanks. Close to my heart as well. I have worked with children with special needs for 22 years, many of whom are autistic.

Thank you, I will make my sister something with this design. My nephew is autistic and he is just learning to communicate with all of us. He is very smart and we are now able to see how much he has learned since he is talking to us. Thanks again for the design. Pam

Thank you. My youngest grandson has something similar, but clinically they cannot figure it out..going up the ladder of specialists...not having any answers is getting to us.

I work with autistic children and we are going on a field trip mid April (Our zoo is holding Autism awareness day). I think I will put this on the back of their shirts. I let them do whatever they want on the front of the shirt.

So many challenges, yet as with any adversity comes blessings. I, too have a grandson with Asperger's. They live toooooo far away. I admire his mother, my DIL, as she has the bulk of responsibility as a SAHM. Thanks for the tiny heart. Colton will love it on something.
