Thanks so much and for everyone that posted the pictures. They look great. But now for the stupid question. Does the zipper have to be light weight? I have some 9 inch zippers that are nylon but are thick. I am afraid that I will break a needle if I stitch this out. I read through all the other replies and didn't see that anyone else had this problem so it might just be me. Does the needle stitch over the zipper without breaking? Any replies would be appreciated!

I am in love!!! Thanks so much for this. I posted the note above re the zipper. I didn't get any replies but figured the zippers I had were just too thick so yesterday I went and bought some other ones. Last night when I couldn't sleep I decided to try the design. I love it but have some suggestions for other newbies out there. First the zipper moves around a bit so I used some adhesive to hold it down. Second, REMEMBER to do the back piece first. I didn't do that as I reading the directions as I went along. I used my other machine to quilt the back. It wasn't ideal but it worked for the first bag (which was for me anyway :D ) Third, I used the wash away stablizer rather than tear away. I just figured it was easier with the strippling. Finally, I like a clean seam so after I trimmed it I serged the edges. :D

I am thinking that these will make great little bags to put the gift cards that I bought for my nieces and nephews. I love how you can pick a themed fabric and put designs on it. Once again, thanks so much!!

Thanks going to try right now. And I loved the cut-off zipper part as the loop.
