I have discovered a site I wish to share with all of you. As some of you know I am fairly new to embroidery and have had my Janome 350E for 11 months now.

My dream was to have some fonts besides the ones built into my machine. Even though I have the Digitizer Jr software there are not any FUN fonts that I like.

The site with the fonts is called 8 Claws and a Paw. Perhaps this has been discussed before here, if so I apologize.

I heard about the great deal on their fonts from another forum I belong to and checked it out, but their site is not very impressive and in mostly brown colors, which I don't find very inspiring, I looked around a little and left. Then I came across several more posts about them so I went back and this time saw beyond the brown and focused on the fonts themselves. I found there were pages and pages of fonts, over 500. (I could not see the 'next page buttons' on my first visit as the buttons were so small, I must have been in a hurry) and I came away thinking there was just one page of fonts.

Anyway, their fonts are under $3 and come in different sizes for that $3 OR you can join their "club" for $29.00, then for one month you can download every font they have and believe me, it is worth it. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday they add new fonts to the site.

I hope this is helpful to someone because I foolishly paid $19.00 for a font early on in the very beginning of starting emboridery and just could not keep doing that with my husband retired now. So, I hope this helps someone else starting off as it did me.

I love learning about good sites that save me money in embroidery so I can spend it elsewhere, like stabilizer and thread....

Let me see if I can get this link to work http://www.8clawsandapaw.com/embroidery-fonts.html

Yes, I have most of Julie's fonts and they sew out perfect every time ! That is one of the sites that I know I don't have to test sew first ! I know I should, but there are a few sites that I know all designs are tested several times before putting up for sale and 8clawsandapaw is one of those sites ! :D :D
She and her husband are really good to help their customers by giving tips, etc...

Sewingbunny, you might also like some of the free fonts on Land of 1,001 Stitches. Look under Fonts by Agua. I just downloaded some, but have yet to test any of them.

I found Land of 1000 stitches and the font you are saying only comes in PES, is that correct? I take Jef.

Thanks, SB

I've never been to that site before- those fonts are amazing!!

I still consider myself very new to the embroidery scene so links and things like this are very helpful! :)

Lovellenaz, you're welcome.

Sewingbunny, there's no reason to let the file type stop you. Just download some conversion software. I use Buzztools, which was not free, but I've heard of one called Wilcom Truesizer. Perhaps you can look into that.

Hi, Could someone please post the link to get to the land of 1001 stitches website? I would love to check out their fonts. I am looking for a college, block type font to do numbers on the plastic, vinyl part of a pocket on a backpack for a girls ballteam. I have 14 of these to do. Don't know how much stitching these can take. Thanks,Vicky

Land of a thousand stitches is no longer running. There is a free varsity font here http://www.sewforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=12608&hilit=varsity+font There is also a corresponding font for numbers.
